Transylvania is Middle Europe at its best. A land of unspoiled landscapes, majestic castles & palaces, Saxon fortified churches in tiny villages, dramatic mountain ranges. And of course, a land of nostalgia & tales, brutal medieval kings & blood-thirsty vampires...

As photographers we will leave all that  blood sucking to Bram Stoker...., and instead fly to Bucharest & then drive to Brasov, full of cobbled streets, quaint Saxon houses & one of Europes most photogenic castles at Peleş. Brasov is the gateway to Transylvania from which we will drive to Castle Bran (of Dracula fame) & photograph it from above as the morning mists swirl around its ramparts. We then travel on to Sighişoara, with the Saxon village of Viscri en route, to photograph its medieval clock tower plus the citadel in which we will explore hidden alleys, medieval doors and windows. We will stop in Sibiu, a beautifully elegant Central European town, and then up into the mountains on the Transfǎgǎrǎşan highway which winds up to Balea Lake at 2000ms. A first for Quest, this will be a trip of wild scenery, dramatic castles & lovely villages & towns. A photographic, and cultural treat! Exertion level: easy.
