Magnificent India! This tour will focus on the most beautiful, inspiring locations of this incredible country. We will fly to New Delhi (staying in The Connaught) to visit the Red Fort, the Qutab Minar, & Human's Tomb (all 3 are Unesco world heritage sites). Then on to Bandhavgarh National Park which has the highest density of tigers in the world - as well as leopards, jackals, deer and sloth bears.... We will have 4 game drives to maximise chances of seeing the tigers. Then on to Khajuraho, one of India's seven wonders with its medieval Hindu and Jain temples.  We will spend 3 days in Agra, close to the Taj Mahal - possibly the most famous monument in the world, with ample opportunity to photograph the Taj as the mist rises off the river & again in the soft warm evening light. Agra has more - the red hued Agra Fort, the 17th century Shahi Jama Masjid mosque & the 'Baby Taj - the Itmad-ud-Daulah’s tomb, with its white marble facade embellished with intricate inlaid designs. Then we move to south-east Rajasthan to our second tiger sanctuary, Rathambore National Park (5 game drives). Finally, we move to the ancient and deeply sacred city of Varanasi resting along the banks of the holy River Ganges. An early morning boat ride along the Ganges offers an excellent way to take in the ghats and the bustling activity centred on them.
