Most 'at home' workshops are based at West Mersea, Mersea Island, near Colchester, Essex. West Mersea is on the Blackwater Estuary in a delightful coastal location. Sailing is a feature and there are many photographic subjects along the waterfront, sometimes including unusual houseboats and sometimes historical smacks. The area is well worthy of exploration, with interesting creeks and estuaries, as well as historical villages and towns. Colchester is England’s oldest recorded town, and has an interesting castle, plus a number of Roman features. The modern 'First Site' gallery is also worth a look.  'Constable Country' is not far away. There is a regular bus service to and from Colchester, and a frequent rail service from Colchester to London Liverpool Street, Ipswich and Norwich.

B&B information in West Mersea

Colin Westgate is part of the Fotospeed Photographers lecture team and has had a very long association of over 25 years with this friendly, family run, company, Fotospeed are suppliers of premium ink jet papers and continuous ink systems and their very comprehensive range is now better than ever. Colin's personal favourites are Platinum Baryta, Platinum Fibre Gloss and Natural Soft White Textured, but all of the papers in the range produce excellent results. Most of Colin's exhibition pictures are on Platinum Baryta, where the superb rich blacks in monochrome, and smooth semi gloss surface result in prints that truly 'sing'  - it is also excellent for colour too.  For more delicate images, Natural Soft White Textured (Bright White) is his choice, plus Platinum Etching, which has a slightly more textured surface.

Colin is also a retailer of Fotospeed products and these can be ordered through him with a substantial discount. Please email Colin for further information.

Quest's philosophy and policy is to give satisfaction and value for money. We therefore invite your comments and feedback, and where you feel any of the workshops could be improved, or if you are unhappy in any way, please let us know! A dissatisfied customer is one that will not come again - and we value your patronage highly. Many people attend year after year, which is very gratifying, but we certainly do not want to become complacent!. We are always seeking new ideas for workshops and holiday destinations, so, should there be any subject that you would like covered, or a special place you would like to visit and photograph,  please let us know.

If you were given this programme, or picked it up from your camera club and would like your name added to our mailing list, please send an e-mail to Tom to subscribe.

Quest would like to thank everyone who has attended workshops or holidays over the past years. Some of you are 'regulars' who come every year, sometimes more than once. Your loyalty is very gratifying and is greatly appreciated. Without your confidence and very positive contribution, Quest workshops would not exist. Furthermore, Quest's aim is your satisfaction, and we do take pride in the quality of our workshops. Please let us know where you think we can do better!
