Winter in Iceland
17-27 Feb
(11 days, 10 nights. 7 spaces)

Join Quest on an unforgettable journey through the hidden gems of Iceland, exploring the breathtaking eastern, northern and western regions far away from the tourist hot spots on the south coast. Once arrived in Iceland we will take an internal flight to Egilsstaðir where you will witness the stunning & craggy Vestrahorn mountains & the black beach at Skokksnes - possibly the most dramatic beach anywhere in Iceland! Capture the beauty of icy, mesmerising, Lake Myvatn, & the drama of the Hverir volcano crater. We will visit the Krafla power works and bathe in the Myvatn hot springs. We will photograph the thundering waterfall of Goðafoss & then journey onto the Tröllaskagi Peninsula with its dinosaur shaped sea stack at Hvítsekur. Our final area will be the Snæfellsness Peninsula. We will photograph the ultra modern church in Stykkishólmur & the famous Kirkufell mountain in Grundarfjördur. There are wrecks on the beach at Ólafsvik & a delightful waterfall at Svödufoss. Before we head south for Reykjavik we will visit the iconic black church at Buðir. Our last day will be in the capital before flying back to the UK from Keflavik. Throughout the tour we will have the opportunity to photograph the Northern Lights in spectacular locations. We will be staying in a mixture of 3 & 4* hotel accommodation. Iceland in February will mean snow conditions - great for photography. Exertion level: moderate (ie occasionally we will need to deal with ice and wear crampons).
