Regretfully, our programme for 2009 is late, due to my partner seriously fracturing her ankle in September. As a result, life has been pretty much ‘on hold’ since that time. However, the programme is now ready and we thank you for your patience. This year, in order to contain costs we are not ending the full, detailed, programme to everyone, but instead are sending this newsletter and programme summary. We will, however, be very pleased to send the full programme if you would like one, so please email or telephone if so. In due course, the programme will be published on the Quest web site. This is being revamped and should be available on line around mid January. We are aware that the site was not kept up to date in 2008 but fully intend that this will be addressed so that it can be a useful point of contact for Quest events.
A large majority of our bookings come from photographers who have previously attended workshops and/or Photoweeks and it is always very pleasing and reassuring that so many of you are prepared to come back, often time and time again. But, of course, if you haven’t previously been to a Quest event, we would be delighted to see you.
The workshops and trips are very informal and friendly, with attention given to individual needs. They are designed for newcomers to photography, as well as more experienced workers, and whether you use film or digital, you can be assured of an interesting and stimulating time. Help will be given with operating and understanding your camera where this is needed, and other topics such as composition and ‘seeing’, lighting and exposure.
As well as courses by Colin Westgate, the 2008 schedule includes Joe Cornish, the outstanding landscape photographer; Hugh Milsom; David Lane; Russell & Barbie Lindsay; Roy Taylor ARPS, lighting in the studio and Priscilla Thomas, the imaginative abstract.
