Quest Photography Program 2008

It's done! The new Quest Photography Programme for 2008 is available. Please check out our latest workshops and photography weeks for 2008.

What has changed?

We are pleased to present our 2008 Programme of Quest workshops and Photoweeks. There are some fairly significant changes this year, in that there are fewer of the one and two day workshops, but an increase in the scope and range of the very popular landscape Photoweeks. Demand for the one day events has significantly declined, which has meant that a number of them are, sadly, no longer viable. Surprisingly, that includes the digital workshops initially led by the late Barrie Thomas and latterly by Steve Wilbur. Furthermore, George McCarthy, who has led the Nature workshops for the last 12 years, is taking well-earned retirement and will no longer be available.

On the plus side, however, some new workshops have been introduced, including Digital AV, with Barry Beckham, and Figure Lighting, with Roy Taylor. What is more, we are delighted to welcome back the renowned landscape photographer Joe Cornish, who will be leading a two-day workshop in Sussex. Regulars John Blakemore and Les McLean are also in the programme.

There is still a limited demand for some of the discontinued workshops and Colin Westgate will always be pleased to consider arranging specific days on a one to one or small group basis at reasonable cost. These can either be in his studio or darkroom or your own home - please enquire if you interested in any particular technique for which no workshop is listed.

Why book with Quest Photography?

A large majority of our bookings come from photographers who have previously attended workshops and/or Photoweeks and it is always very pleasing and reassuring that so many of you are prepared to come back, often time and time again. But, of course, if you haven’t previously been to a Quest event, we would be delighted to see you.

The workshops and trips are very informal and friendly, with attention given to individual needs. They are designed for newcomers to photography, as well as more experienced workers, and whether you use film or digital, you can be assured of an interesting and stimulating time. Help will be given with operating and understanding your camera where this is needed, and other topics such as composition and ‘seeing’, lighting and exposure.
