Skye & Torridan

21 - 28 April

(8 days, 7 nights. FULL)

The Isle Of Skye is a wonderful location for the landscape photographer, particularly in the Spring when there is still a chance of snow on the mountain tops. The ‘Misty Isle’ has an immense variety and drama of photographic subjects. In the northeast we will photograph the spectacular jagged peaks of the Trotternish Peninsula including the two most famous landmarks: The Old Man Of Storr & the Quirang. On the east we will photograph classic coastal locations such as Elgol, Neist Point Lighthouse & Talisker Bay (where we might stop for a wee dram of the local whisky whilst spotting Golden Eagles…). Central Skye has great views of the Black Cuillin mountain range with Sligachan Bridge and Fairy Pools as foreground interest. As always with Quest trips we will stop frequently when we see scenes that attract us so that we not only photograph the classic scenes but we get our own unique take on this fantastic island too. This year, the trip will also include 3 days in the dramatic Applecross/Torridan peninsula. We will drive the Beach Na Bà mountain pass with views across distant summits & photograph the 3 Torridan giants of Being Alligin, Liathach & Benn Eighe.  On Skye we will be based at the Sligachan Hotel (right opposite the stunning view of the Black Cuillins) & in Torridan in the Tig an Eileen B&B, giving us good access to Applecross as well as Torridan.

Price: £1700. There is a £300 single supplement. £300 deposit. Travel: During the workshop Tom will drive a minibus. Rendezvous point will be in Glasgow, probably on the evening of the 20th to allow us to drive through & photograph Glencoe on the way to Skye. Bookings to Tom please (07515 549485): thomaspeck1@me.com
