Kenyan Safari

Quest has teamed up with Peter Cadot, whose family has been running safaris in Kenya for over 30 years, to develop the ultimate 10 day Kenyan safari! Our safari will provide absolutely the very best wildlife photographic opportunities whilst also enjoying top class luxury safari accommodation. The variety & beauty of the wildlife is spectacular: lions, leopards, cheetah, jackals, elephants, giraffe, hippos, crocs, wildebeest, zebra, foxes, hyena, topi, eland, thomson & grant gazelle, & that's not even including the birds... (my favourite is the Secretary Bird). We will base ourselves in 2 locations, each in private game sanctuaries away from the more crowded National Parks. We will spend 3 days in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy at Lewa House, a delightful & luxurious lodge, inc pool, overlooking undulating terrain with Mount Kenya as its backdrop. 70 species of wildlife, 300 birds species, all in 80,000 acres to explore, with a nearby spring where the animals quench their thirst.  Then we fly to the Masai Mara North Conservancy, a private conservancy on the edge of the famous Masai Mara Reserve. Our accommodation is in the 'Off Beat Mara Camp', superb luxury tents in a picturesque valley, surrounded by indigenous trees and bush, commanding beautiful views across the valley and beyond to the Masai Mara Reserve. A large pride of lion has its home here, as well as local leopards. the Mara River is close by with hippos and crocs. Great opportunities to photograph apex predators and, of course, the huge herds of Thomson and Grant gazelle, zebra, topi and Eland, that make up their prey. We will also visit a local village to photograph the Maasai releasing their cattle & goats at dawn - animals, swirling dust, herders, all in golden dawn light (no other safari does this).  Picture this: Dawn safari watching cheetah or lion on the hunt. Breakfast picnic out on the savannah or overlooking the hippos squabbling in the Mara River. 3 course lunch back at the camp followed by some relaxation time. Sundowners out on safari. Dusk with the elephant. To finish the day: 3 course dinner back at the camp and then drinks by the campfire. Glamping bliss…  For full  brochure please contact Tom.

Price: £8200pp (based on 2 people sharing a villa). Includes airport meet & greet service at Nairobi, all accommodation, full board, all internal transport - flight to Kicheche and private charter to Lewa - Mara - Nairobi. Professional Maasai safari guide. All conservancy fees, govt taxes. Laundry on site. Most safaris squeeze people into their 4x4s.
