Isle of Skye

with Tom Peck & Colin Westgate. 2nd-9th April (7 nights)

The Isle Of Skye is a wonderful location for the landscape photographer, particularly in the Spring when there is still a good chance of snow on the hills. The ‘Misty Isle’ has an immense variety and drama of photographic subjects. In the northeast we will photograph the spectacular jagged peaks of the Trotternish Peninsula including the two most famous landmarks: The Old Man Of Storr and the Quirang. On the east we will photograph classic coastal locations such as Elgol, Neist Point Lighthouse and Talisker Bay (where we might stop for a wee dram of the local whisky…). Central Skye has great views of the Black Cuillin mountain range with Sligachan Bridge and Fairy Pools as foreground interest. As always with Quest trips we will stop frequently when we see scenes that attract us so that we not only photograph the classicscenes but we get our own unique take on this fantastic island too. This year, the trip will also include day in the dramatic Applecross peninsula. We will, as usual, be based at The Skye Picture House  (near Broadford where our hosts, Stuart and Sarah Brumpton, have a reputation for their warm hospitality. The guest house is situated in a stunning location, at the edge of a loch, with superb views, especially for the morning sunrise. Otters and seals can sometimes be seen.

Cost: £1150. (deposit £250). (7 places). We will organise travel nearer the time, meeting either at Inverness airport and hiring a minibus, or traveling to/from Skye independently depending on Covid regulations. Travel insurance essential.
