The Lake District is one of Britain's most beautiful areas, & it is crammed full of fantastic locations.
This workshop will be based in Keswick so that we can take advantage of the fells, lakes, streams and waterfalls around Derwentwater, Buttermere and Crummock Water. Hopefully we will still have snow on the peaks in early February and the trees will not yet be in leaf so we will be able to shoot stark, dramatic conditions perfect for stunning black and white images. We shall visit Castlerigg Stone Circle & shoot reflections of Skiddaw which looms above Bassenthwaite lake. The famous Ashness Bridge and Surprise View over Derwentwater are close by. We shall do a dawn shoot at Buttermere with its famous trees (not too early in February but well before the tourists are up) and Crummock Water is often overlooked but is a lovely small lake with rocks leading into the water and small islands dotted around off the shore. In the evenings we shall share some prints and discuss some processing techniques to make the most of the images taken during the day.
