The Lake District is one of Britain's most beautiful areas, & it is crammed full of fantastic locations. This workshop will be based at Ravenstone Manor near Keswick so that we can take advantage of the fells, lakes, streams and waterfalls around Derwentwater, Buttermere and Crummock Water. The autumnal colours should be at their peak in early November so we will have lots of opportunity to photograph the Lakes in their best light. We shall visit Castlerigg Stone Circle & shoot reflections of Skiddaw which looms above Bassenthwaite Lake. The famous Ashness Bridge and Surprise View over Derwentwater are close by. We shall do a dawn shoot at Buttermere with its famous trees (not too early in November but well before the tourists are up) and Crummock Water is often overlooked but is a lovely small lake with rocks leading into the water and small islands dotted around off the shore. We will of course photograph at Blea Tarn (see image) and along The Langdales. Finally we will also go to some of the lesser known, but equally impressive locations such as Cathedral Cave and Hodge Close Quarry. In the evenings we shall share some prints and discuss some processing techniques to make the most of the images taken during the day.
Price £900 (deposit £250) 8 places. Price is based on sharing a twin room. If you require a single room, a supplement of £200 is payable. Travel to/from the Lakes, and food, is not included. Tom will drive a minibus for travel during the workshop depending on how many attendees there are.
